The Enchanted Lady-II

The hall was in silence. Even the wind stopped. It seemed the silence before a storm. Her garland was hanging around the neck of an unquestionable warrior. With his poise and deadly grace, Karna looked down and meet his wife gaze, and the hall erupted in uproar. The loudest voice was of a jilted warrior, Arjun. "How dare she select! man of such a low birth over me!" he roared. This was enough to quiet most of the hall.

King Vahusha looked to his daughter in dismay and trepidation. He definitely did not expect that. The only person sitting on his chair, smiling with unconcern was Krishna. As the pandemonium in the room quieted, King Vahusha thundered, "DAUGHTER! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!!?" . The king got up and ran towards Karna with an intend to remove the garland that his daughter had placed around Karna's neck.

Krishna stood up. In his sonorous voice, he opined, "Your daughter has chosen him, Raja Vahusha, it was your only condition in this swayamvar...you must accept the outcome, or atleast that's what Niyati says..." He finished with a smile. "Oh Devkinandana! shouldn't we be concerned about a kshtriya marring a sutputra (chariot driver's son)? " King Vahusha asked. "Even though he is a sutputra, don't you know he is the great King of Aang?, don't you know that he is a spectacular archer learned from Lord Parshuram?. He is as good as Arjun then why is he being treated like that? You should rather be concerned about keeping  your daughter safe!" Krishna said breathlessly.

The hall seem like a graveyard. King Vahusha looked into his daughter's eyes. Her eyes were not usual...it had care, it had happiness, it had the strength to face the difficulties, it had confidence, and it had love. He was mesmerized and fascinated by her; he smiled and conveyed his acceptance. Karna gave his hand to Uruvi with a promise to be together forever and happily started their new life.
